I was hooked and have been a steam enthusiast since that time; having attended dozens of events over the years. At one event, two Case 110 HP machines were pulling, in tandem, three, twelve bottom plows.

The Case Corporation was a major producer of threshing machines and other harvesting equipment. Steam tractors and steam traction engines, as they are more appropriately known, were the mainstay of farming in many countries during the early 1900’s.
The J. L. Case 110 HP steam powered traction engine was not the largest produced by the Case company; J. L. Case also produced a 150 HP steam powered traction engine, although it is believed that no examples of this model exist, at this time.

It is generally believed that there are only about a dozen Case 110 HP steam traction engines that have been restored to a working condition. I have been told that it may cost more than $250,000 to restore one of these fantastic machines to full working and original authentic look.
The J. L. Case 110 HP steam powered traction engine may still be seen pulling 12 bottom plows across the fields at many steam show events during the late spring and summer, across the United States.
